We definitely need to offset the historical wrongs that Blacks have been facing for centuries such as slavery, discrimination, prejudices, oppression, systematic racism, etc. The undying repercussions have been shown with today's socioeconomic inequalities, horrid poverty floor compared to whites, poor infrastructure, broken homes, recidivism, high incarceration rate, and so forth. 60% of private wealth is inherited therefore whites should make amends for capitalizing on slavery.
Ideally, African-Americans should be all be receiving direct monetary compensation for the trials and tribulations of the past, but honestly, cash injections alone will only be a bandaid to the problem and will ultimately alienate other race-ists. With competent oversight, I believe the best systematic approach is to invest more in poor neighborhoods such as predominantly black and white rural ones , and hopefully in the long term, everyone will be satisfied.
If we go for a hybrid or cash reparation route, the money should be in the form of vouchers (rent?) in order to diminish trash consumer purchases. My only problem with this model is that it might push the false narrative that racism is over since the government is helping blacks directly.
