A GED is a very low bar of achievement, perhaps the threshold separating retards from low-achievers. Maybe a GED doesn't say much about 'intelligence', but it def speaks volumes about a persons character, dedication, work-ethic, etc. These are important qualities in a leader. Reading more about her background, I seriously wonder how much of docket material she can comprehend. Maybe that is a case for 'plain english' legislation.
To me it is both presumptuous and judgmental to view one's GED status as some kind of barometer that separates 'retards from low-achievers' or that speaks to a person's character, dedication, or work-ethic. There are many reasons why people don't earn their GED at all, or do so later in life, and it seems unfair to chalk them up as less intelligent or of low character without knowing why it is the case that this was true for them with respect to getting a GED.
