I don’t have difficulty living with my pregnant wife and seeing her is the best part of my day

U?

"Part" of your day? So... You aren't locked down. Good deal. You have no idea what you're talking about.

This is kind of the problem. Something like 1/3rd of all US households are now "shut-ins" where they only leave home for basic food shopping.

You're attempting to equate your "part of the day" that's just the normal interaction after work with people who don't have a moment away from their SO. You've never been in a position where you are stuck 24/7 in the same space with other people. You have no idea why or how people can go crazy.

It wouldn't shock me at all to learn you're either a health care worker or a government worker. Your level of ignorance and lack of empathy would be par for the course. :)

Anyone have very recent statistics on divorce rates during the pandemic?

I could only find one from May 2020, nothing more recent, and it's from nypost, a crap website...

I personally know two people who've gotten divorced recently. It seems to be skyrocketing. :(

Divorce rates have dropped but only because we currently have the lowest marriage rates in history.

It would be safe to assume that divorce is higher than it should because of the social and economic aspects of the lockdowns.

In reality women are just hooking up and then becoming single moms or cat ladies.

Just because you're locked in does not mean you don't do your own activities each day. Now I recognize I have a three bedroom home with no kids so two of those bedrooms are separate offices, but we happily do our own thing.

Perhaps the not having a moment away is those living in smaller apartments / condos but even then I know many that have just made their own defined space. Headphones are great.

Less divorces at the moment
HOWEVER, murders, domestic abuse, murder-suicide, and suicide are all increased

The math on this statement does not make sense.

If we have a lower total amount of marriages, each divorce would have a higher impact on the percentage of divorces occurring? maybe I am reading your statement wrong

If you can't handle the pandemic, you shouldn't have gotten married in the first place.

This lmao, no other way to say it.

Spoken like a person who has no children and has never dealt with children.

Spoken like a shitty parent, only someone with a low IQ and the inability to express themselves would have to resort to hitting a child as a form of discipline.
