My personal opinion: Ukraine is a sordid, piss-poor, corruption-infested shithole. Admitting them to the EU would have been a huge mistake. Preventing that from happening is the biggest favor Putin ever did for us.

He is an ex KGB powerhouse that is the only man in Russia bully enough to keep the corrupt Russian aristocracy in line. He is highly corrupt, but most alternatives would probably still be worse.

They all corrupt to the bone. Just understand that, they probably all receive important threats and some serious enough to bend over. There's nobody untouchable on this planet. The only difference is some have enough power to stay under the radar or not look to sketchy.

Agreed, also Ukraine is historically part of russia, then there's crimea/sevastopol, the only logical conclusion for EU is stay far away from this powder keg that might go boom one way or another
