You just proved my point: it will not longer be "cheap". It's a very long run, like 20 more years to get a decent % of electric cars, and the issue with rare earth (China).
It's a problem for US more than Europe because of population density. Geographically hu keks.

Cars are strongly present in your "culture" (at least as much as wearing a cap while opening a big fridge to take a can of beer).

Sands oil is just horrible.

Terrible or not Joe’s only interest is in making sure the oil coming from Canada is cheap. It ensures a glut of oil in Canada with limited supply routes so it remains cheap.

Pipeline is illegal as hell, so I'm fine with this.

People say "Oh pipelines are safe" and yet it was defered from its original planned route due to spill risks... to the white communities it was passing through. There was an explicit decision made to route it through Native American land because they have less political power to fight it.

So.. sounds like the entire US is going to fall apart over one pipeline...
Oh wait best economy ever and its not even functioning yet. logic is missing somewhere...
