It's not a contradiction, kiddo. You need to spend 12 seconds to look up the legal basis of a contested election, how it can work, and what the results would be.
Right now, everything hinges on election irregularity/fraud. As in, "The numbers are a lie, you did not win." If that is accepted, then Trump wins. If it's up to a contest, it could go either way.
If Trump were to withdraw, however, then even if there's a contested election, with Trump not in, Biden "Won" and was thrown out for one of a few different reasons, and a President is appointed. It's happened once in US history as I recall. The winner of that election still won, they just never became President, an appointed replacement took office.
