I'm a conservative Catholic. What the Pope said is troubling and doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but he's not changing any official teaching of the church.

Also, there's this idea that Catholics can't disagree with the Pope. Not true. We have to accept all official teachings of the church, but can certainly disagree with things the Pope says.
