it’s a shame the Mayor of Louisville and Governor of Kentucky seem to have zero control over their city/state, respectively

They said that there was no forced entry and that there were no victim injuries.

Personally, I think you should be fired immediately for something like that. In addition, you should probably face jail time depending on the severity of the offense and be barred from joining ANY law enforcement agency.

Inlaws live in a nearby suburb roughly 20 min from downtown.

Everyone is on edge, and rightfully so. They're preparing for a long night and an even longer weekend.

They're far enough away from downtown to avoid most of the mess. I hope they don't fuck up Louisville Slugger museum. Love that place.

Agree this should be the minimum. You and I pay consequences at all times no questions asked for accidents that lead to death. Police should be no different. This is a minimum but the fact that they pay no consequences is feeding this fire of un-just treatment Is it just me or the charge that stands over a stray bullet Just adding insult to injury?

I'll have to review the details of the case again, but are you saying that the police should be able to no-knock raid your house during the night and shoot you dead?

If that's the law, yes. Whether or not it's a good law is a separate matter. You can't just demand retributive justice against officers just because we can't police our own representatives.

I agree with you in that the true sense of 'justice' is beyond our current understanding, and I include myself in this. Punitive justice and retributive justice are far from the ideal of justice. In the future, perhaps many, many generations from now, people will look back on the current justice system and be baffled that we sincerely thought this system was truly evocative of justice.

Even so-called restorative justice that is heavily advocated in the social circles I run in is plagued by flaws.

If they do I hope they are properly ventilated. The masks can make things difficult.

"If it's the law to exterminate the jews I'm OK with it. The law is cool."
