The modern left's racial theory may end up being studied for hundreds of years as double-think in pure form. End class by creating classes, absolutely brilliant.

The classes were created by racists under the guise of science, the left would prefer ending the distinction all together, but absence of everybody being willing to do that the next best thing is to restore an equal playing field which has to be done by acknowledging the classes others perceive.

This is really easy but you aren't capable of nuance on this subject. I call you a cultist because you are. The conservatives who can apply nuance didnt fall into the cult like you did.

Let's take the content of your post at face value. Is opposition to affirmative action a position unique to Trump? His supporters? Did he bring it to relevance in the last 4 years, or in the last 10? Or has opposition to affirmative action been a long-standing position among a broad swathe of the American public? It's a rhetorical question, which leads one to wonder why your immediate response is to start screeching about "cultists" like a simpleton. You lack the general self-awareness required to see that you are the mirror in true form of the "cult" you spend so much time ranting about.

It's interesting to note that a good number of the posters on this forum (some conservative no less), show a remarkable level of nuance when it comes to Trump. They have the intellectual force, as low as that bar is, required to judge the situation on a case by case basis. By contrast, have a frustrating need to simplify the world to fit into a narrow, simplistic worldview filled with moral, intelligent liberals and evil, dim-witted conservatives. It's not a particularly bright take.

here i simplified it into their narrow worldview:

e: look how mad it made them that a institution named for a slave trader is being held accountable for basically violating the Civil Rights Act. topic on discrimination against a minority group and some white people, and the pale pasty privileged lefties go into long-winded racist rants about everything not related to the subject at hand.

The fact that you thought this was clever, let alone made any sense, is pitiable.

To the contrary, I understand exactly what you mean. It's just not very well thought out.

As for affirmative action, some very progressive authors have written at length on its role in creating "privileged" in-groups even within minority populations.

A compelling reason to correct the deficiencies in the programs, not a compelling reason to cancel them entirely as white supremacists wish.

Not inherently superior, inherently privileged. The objective is to remove classes entirely.

How is the Chinese or Indian student coming here and doing well academically and getting a decent paying job inherently privileged?

I think it's so unfortunate that people all have this tendency to want to be right, faultless, and flawless to the extent that they cannot argue from a place of honesty; instead, conversations tend to devolve into a double-down of talking points carefully crafted to protect and preserve their egos.

So I'll be honest. I think white people and Asian people (exempting Southeast Asians) deserve to be discriminated against. Discrimination is not, on its face, an inherently bad action. It's objectively bad when used as a mechanism to oppress others. However, when used to debase those very same oppressors, it becomes a tool for good.

How exactly are Chinese/Korean/Japanese/Vietnamese-Americans "oppressors"?

At the end of the day, the relative success of East Asian immigrants from whichever socioeconomic background (not all of their families are "the smartest and brightest", they still overachieve) is hugely inconvenient for the political left, since it is really difficult for them to explain away the overperformance of East Asians without contradicting their own talking points about white vs brown issues.

Hm, I think if you have two relatively equal candidates and one is black/native and one is asian/white, it's fine to give admission to the former. When there's a great disparity, it doesn't do anyone any favors. I'm of the opinion that it's a little too late to be doing affirmative action at the college/university level, especially at elite institutions. We really need to focus on the disparity before. Affirmative action will only benefit the top 10% of underrepresented minorities at best.

Agreed. We should abolish welfare for single moms/no fault divorce/alimony.

Or at the minimum take children out of the custody of single moms. The poverty and abuse rates of children raised under single moms is shockingly high, and no one seems to want to talk about it or give them any share of responsibility.
