Have you considered voting absentee instead? I haven't been to a polling location in well over a decade.

Anyway, your attitude is one of the reasons why Americans have abysmal turnout and it's part of a vicious cycle. If EVERYONE voted, things would be quite different.

What is the point for me to vote? I'm a conservative in a deep blue district. I could mobilize and try to sway everyone i know to vote red and it would still not matter.

I mean i voted most of my adult life but in such a district it's pretty pointless.

Haven't been to the states lately but im not entirely sure i agree with the fascist narrative. I just see sensationalistic headlines that exaggerate what is going on. How fascist is it really?

well, i'm sure that some of the news have made to under your rock:

- unwanted minorities locked away in camps
- protesters labeled 'terrorists', 'adversaries'
- massive and brutal police crackdown without accountability, abductions of citizens in unmarked vehicles to undisclosed locations
- critical media under constant attack, coordinated (and successful) efforts to delegitimise the press
- mass surveillance and incarceration of citizens
- denial of embarrassing historical events
- coordinated efforts to hide facts and case numbers about covid-19 from the population, the CDC, and the world
- trying to delay elections due to bad polling
- violations of the constitution under the guise of law and order
- constant, dangerous, and deliberate misinformation by the administration for political purposes
- president above the law, not held accountable in the slightest for clear and obvious crimes and ethical violations of the office

it's pretty bad actually, especially considering the people supporting it are pretty much those that always pretended to value freedom, individual and states rights, and said they were in favour of small government. you don't want to join the appeasers who pretend those are things that can be forgiven, or that are irrelevant just because another country is even worse - history doesn't judge them favourably...

here's a helpful guide for deeply confused progressives.

China = fascist actions from the govt, no recourse for citizens to fight it.

USA = less but still present fascist actions from the govt, constitutionally guaranteed recourse for citizens to fight it.

If Trump is that, it's hard to imagine "what" are the chosen people who voted for him.

So vote for the most conservative Democrat? Vote for the non-partisan candidate who matches up with your views the best? Vote Republican anyway to make a point? If Libertarians cast a vote, I really don't understand why anyone WOULDN'T.

I guess the way I see it is that it's your patriotic DUTY to vote. Our country was FOUNDED on the principles of representation so to me it's rather unamerican to not exercise your right. When you don't vote, I interpret that as "I really don't care what happens to our country one way or another."

You keep ignoring what i say lol. The vote is pointless because the way the system works. I'm not much into symbolism and doing things just based on that.

Fender's definition of fascism is having a border and arresting rioters who attacks cops.

I'm not sure he's ever actually been to the United States, so take his bubble-wrapped perspective with a grain of salt.

the only morally just reason not to vote is if you're compelled to by law. (paraphrased) quote by Athene, world's best paladin.

You mean the majority winning elections? Yea, that's an intended feature.

it's funny that you have to resort to such blatant lies (if you're able to read, you KNOW that is NOT my 'definition of fascism') - it just shows that you don't have any real arguments, you're just arguing against the lazy and one-dimensional caricature that FOX news portrays every leftist as. i'm sure the irony of that is completely lost on your, but i think that's rather hilarious...
