You can also get used to identifying the bias and propaganda lens different outlets use and can glean some info from there.

I follow a bunch of independent/smaller/libertarian journalists and commentators.
Twitter is actually pretty useful if you follow the right accounts.

This is true. Also when GWB was in office reality did have a liberal bias, now not so much. There is a reason Trump won and it isn't because half of America is stupid. The zeitgeist has changed a lot.

just because an outlet has an obvious slant, that doesn't mean all of their info is bad or even that it's difficult to parse out the good from the bad

that stuff is all still going to be mostly good and reliable
it's the analysis and editorializing that gets into the scum
but it's easy enough to tune that out

Fox is a product marketed to a Demographic, its biased but accurate. CNN is Hitler youth for Obama cultists.
