Prediction: Silent Majority turns out, Trump vindicated and re-redefines the modern presidency.

Nobody is excited about a Joe Biden presidency. Nobody is fired up about this election. The campaign is: Trump is x, therefore not x. Biden's platfrom is someone disappointing from a pragmatists point of view. He is going full Green New Deal i think and we are not ready or well-poised for that at this moment.

Making healthcare more affordable and getting Americans back to work. He is talking about appointing Elizabeth Warren to regulate financial markets...god damn, that would poison the well....they hate her. He should bring back that piece of shit elitist Larry Summers, he did a great job for a few POTUS's....but he's a swamp creature.

Man, Ohio REALLY has you jaded, doesn't it? You used to brag how Ohio was reasonably progressive, a purple state, etc. Now you're 10 points more Republican than the rest of the country.

This is how the race would have played out under normal circumstances, without covid. But thanks to Trump completely dropping the ball on the most important and dominating issue, Biden looks headed to a very solid win. I still think that Trump will recover somewhat, and that it wont be a blowout, but I have a really hard time seeing Trump come back from the deep deep hole he dug himself into.


The key difference to 2016 is that the entire Democratic coaltion is excited about casting a vote against Trump. They dont need to be excited about Biden as long as their hatred of Trump drives them to the polls.

Sadly, the bolded is only true in theory.

In practice, the leader's job is to do what his donators paid him to do. And as a bonus, he can try to manipulate people into thinking that his donators' interests are society's interests, to increase the chances of getting re-elected.

I see Trump getting reelected as well.
You can pretty much count on people voting against their interests.
