There was pretty universal condemnation of George Floyd's death that was subsequently lost in "Yes we mean literally abolish the police" NYT op-eds.
He's a young kid whose life was almost ruined by partisan, over eager media sources. WaPo unscrupulously publishing articles with a slant they had to have known was false is important to anyone who cares about factual news reporting.
Can you imagine that ~8 years ago, there was an actual debate over whether news media had an anti-Romney slant or were just being "fact-driven"? Now these things aren't even a question.
There never seems to be actual outrage from the right, unless it involves white guys as the victim and certain groups(media, liberals, Democrats) as the perpetrators. And deflecting onto fringe groups, as you just did, is a tactic the right uses which highlights that they really don't give a shit about the underlying incidents.
It's simply the nature of news media that people react in real time to events. I don't know what WaPo got sued for, because any time this thread comes up nobody ever posts articles, but it's not that big of a deal. "We're going to wait to react to this video showing the stereotypical racist incident until we have 10 more angles" is just being unrealistic. This applies to left, right, and fact-based media.
I think you've just moved further into your bubble and aren't exposed to differing viewpoints, except when presented by people who agree with you.
