My grandma would never vote for Obama, and told my sister and I to never bring home a black girl/guy. There's a lot more people like that than most believe. When you actually grow up around it you don't underestimate it's prevalence.

We're only one generation out of segregated schools, and "moderate whites" complaining about their daughters being with negros. Those views don't disappear in one generation.
