try to read into the spirit of my comment which concurs precisely with the one before this. one can't (or shouldn't) exist without the other.

Policy without some mode to enforce it is meaningless. People pay their taxes because they know the irs will come after them if they don’t not because of some deep philosophical conclusion it’s the right thing to do.

And there’s a ton of salt in my MBA group chat. Good portion of them are international students the other 70% hate trump passionately so yeah...

so okay, maybe you can abolish ICE but there will be something to take it's place called something else. if the idea is to abolish enforcement, then the law can't be enforced making it 100% obsolete

very few people are calling for full abolition. but i do hear more and more every day. and you didn't really call for it, it's just the title of the thread

It's nitpicking. Since 2003 we've NEEDED an enforcement arm of the immigration policies. These days you can't have one without the other.

What year was it... 2018? We had almost 100k supposed refugees per MONTH. We would have been over run, without ICE. The entire plan of those refugees was to over load the system we had in place.



/e The post IS dumb. The United States would not survive w/o and enforcement arm to the immigration laws.
