Generally speaking all corporations understand is growth. They aren't necessarily interested in humanity, culture, etc. So, to them, there seems to be no need to preserve thing like different languages when they can homogenize everything into the most efficient language possible. Again, who knows but maybe one day artificial intelligence comes into play in a big way and really jumpstarts the siphoning of human culture.

I don't think artificial intelligence is going to nearly as big as people think it will.

Well, I don't think general artificial intelligence will get as big as people think it will. AI will get big, very slowly, in very specific tasks, and expand regularly from there. The idea that we will have a general AI that does any job you tell it is still science fiction.

Disclaimer -- I know a total of jack shit about artificial intelligence.

My point is that eventually I could see them developing some sort of AI-based interface that all people will plug into and make it even easier for corporations to homogenize language, currency, etc., etc.

You can kind of see how immersive just the Internet is versus the pre-Internet days and the amount to which I consider that a quantum leap I think eventually another quantum leap will be made that is hard for us to fathom on the outside looking in, just as the Internet would be super hard to predict in the 1910's.

I've already heard Elon Musk talking about skull implants they are developing. Once the implants start I opt out entirely and start looking on how to make a fire and live on my own.

I have the exact opposite philosophy. Once the skull implants start I wait for the early adopter glitches to get sorted out and take off with it. The faster I can upload my consciousness into the cloud the better.

Don't take Elon's word on theoretical technology though. He tried to build the hyperloop and other patently dumb ideas. His advancements in rocketry have been incremental and entirely based on preexisting technology. He can certainly do some cool things, but he's not revolutionizing the world.

Why do you want to opt in to something like that?

I don't take what he said as gospel. I actually only saw him interviewed once and he was just describing what his team is working on. The idea of implants seems like it goes back a long way, was even depicted in Star Wars lol.

I would opt in because I don't think robots are going to replace us, I think they will augment us, and the people with the augmentations will have an extreme advantage over those who don't

I see.

For myself, I'm fine with this reality, I don't need any new digital one to be created for me.
