The problem is that often, people think the inequality is between Black and White when in fact it's between poor and rich. I'm sure white privilege exist somewhere in the food chain but it's def not within the low-mid class. We suffer like anyone else.
this all the way. theyre protesting the wrong thing, trying to make it into a race issue when its not. the issue here is poor people feeling like they have no hope. but theyre blaming it on racism instead of a variety of other factors that are much more influential in them remaining poor than racism. while there is still some racism in america, its very little and mainly on an individual level. despite the claims of the left, there is no such thing as "institutional racism" in america. where are they kept out of as a matter of racial rule? what are they held back from as a matter of racial rule? find me the rule and quote it so that we can all challenge it, or stfu about institutional racism. again, yes, there are racist individuals, but they have little influence over poor people remaining poor. if someone has the drive and determination they can make something of themselves no matter what color they are. as i said in another thread, my wife's father law is black and came from a poor family in chicago with nothing. he joined the army, used it to get an education, and became a lawyer. he chose to make something of himself rather than sit around bemoaning the fact that he was poor and looking for people to blame for it. if he could do that 50 years ago when there WAS institutional racism, anyone could do that now, too. anyone who says that opportunities are not there for blacks is full of shit, and THEY are the ones to blame. gangs and gangster culture are to blame for poor people staying poor. welfare is to blame for poor people staying poor. and a variety of other factors as well, but racism plays a very very small role. opportunities are there for any who want them and work to get them.
