I found this to be a really intriguing article about an event that I was aware of but knew lttle details about. I thought this quote about everything that occurred wrong that day particularly interesting:
"You had this combination of naive students, a politically ambitious governor, and a laissez-faire administration all deeply complicated by terrible leadership in the National Guard."
A really tragic day for the US. I didn't fully realize the political implications this had on the war effort, as well as the 26th Amendment.
Any of those soldiers still being punished?
Was anyone punished for this crime?
I'm really under educated about this.
