There seems to be some entanglement here between the SJW agenda of the sequel vs. the fact that fans just hate the leaked story. The characters they love are treated like shit, they won't buy the game, ND will lose money.

Just imagine if the GoT S8 leaks had been more detailed, with explicit proof (like these TLOU2 leaks are). Fans would have flipped out because of how bad the story is, same as they are doing here. But instead, a lot of the fans didn't even believe the GoT S8 leaks (because they were just so unbelievably bad). So those leaks didn't cause the same uproar as we are seeing now.

I don't think stories sell video games like they do tv shows. With television the story is the primary thing.
