I'm preparing myself mentally for the Second Depression (post covid) to be comparable to the First Depression of the 1930s.

It will be more like 2008. I don't know why Republicans keep getting elected. Everytime they leave the car in the ditch. Every single time.

There's some risk for war or mutation but it's very small.
Nothing will change, big HOLE in planning, and people will forget in no time.

You're diving way out of your own area of expertise here. All diseases that infect humans have ways to evading the immune system. HIV doesn't "suppress the immune system", it directly infects T cells.

Do yourself a favor and drop all the association between HIV and Covid, you'll be saved a lot of embarrassment when you mention it to somebody who knows what they're talking about and save yourself having spread a lot of half truths.

Why is it latent for two weeks in most individuals?

Its literally another retrovirus.

Pro tip: if you are poor your life does not change much during a recession.

You have no savings or 401k. You have no property that can be foreclosed on, and if you don't have kids you just have to find relatively stable food and shelter for yourself, which isn't hard. Chicks were having babies when I was in high school. That is way harder than anything you are going to face due to the economic repercussions of Covid-19. You got this. No matter how about things get your probly still have a computer Internet and a big a** TV to play video games on and plenty of calories and relative safety.

If you need help finding food give me your zip code via PM and I'll find free food for you and people happy to give it.

Every environment is rich with resources.

I mean, that depends on whether or not you keep your job(s), and whether or not you can keep enough hours.

Every recession/depression, rent costs go UP, not down. The difference could be homelessness.

Not a big thing to those not poor, I guess.

once the shit dies down i'll stock my fallout shelter with more non-perishables. never even considered needing Toilet paper, but when it dies down i'll toss a 72 pack in there or something then next time shit goes down it will be one less thing to worry about. other than that im growing more this year and planning to preserve more heading into this fall/winter.

Yeah, i almost went homeless in 2008, single parent nonetheless. Moved in with a friend and made it work. Fucking sucked lol.

If i didn't have a baby i would have lived in a tent or out of my car. Glad it worked out like it did.

I have a bomb shelter in my house under my front porch. My house was built in the mid 1950s. Different fears and anxieties then. They really thought the Soviets were going to nuke a state park in southern Ohio? Yes, they did.

not one that would withstand anything nuclear. but yes, i have a small section in the basement of my house as a panic room of sorts. there's a 5' x 12' section under the stairs that's currently my gun room, but could easily fit a cot. and a door off of that into a wine cellar that i have half of the wine racks removed from stocked with dry goods, preserved food, and other assorted shit. the door to the gun room is solid oak and i bolted an 3/16" thk. steel plate to it so its bullet proof and wont buckle when bolted from the inside.

was just a fun summer project using some scrap from work, but now it's semi practical. i just wanted a bad ass gun room and didnt have 200 bottles of wine to fill the cellar.
