Ordered whistlepig 15 year to have a taste :) will let you know how it goes.

Palate: Toffee and butterscotch, a little bit of dark chocolate too. Soft spices grow and grow. A touch of intense oak warmth.

That stuff always makes me laugh, bet it tastes like burning ;)

As you are more junior or intermediate, moving jobs every 2-3 makes a lot of sense to get pay rises, but as you become quite experienced you should be looking to stay for longer and seek internal promotion. It's very rare that you'll progress from management to director level by moving jobs every 2-3 years. The reasons people still do this are due to working for small firms with limited progression and/or not standing out compared to others in their profession.

Sales.

I've built a somewhat large book of business that provides reoccurring revenue with little effort/work. I essentially maintain my relationships while slowly adding to my book. I bring in a substantial amount of profit for my company, and they've rewarded me as such.

I worked very hard to build that base of business over the years, and am now reaping the benefits. Smaller company, less politics and hard work is actually rewarded here.

Companies are ALWAYS hiring sales professionals. ALWAYS. I have about 7-8 years of solid experience backed by performance numbers, and get offered new jobs constantly. I'm very hesitant to leave because you never know what you're walking into.

This job also provides a large amount of personal benefits/freedom. I'm free to manage my customers how i see fit and don't have a higher up breathing over my shoulder. I have learned over the years I cannot properly work/succeed while reporting to a micromanager. That was the main reason i left my previous job for my current one.

I could probably make more jumping ship. I could go to some high reward/ high stress outfit and "start over" but i don't feel that's in my best interest. I'm in a very rewarding and comfortable spot. I don't need to make 20-30% more and sacrifice all of the personal benefits my current position provides.

Sales is something I am confident I will never be able to do successfully.

It's a very interesting profession that can be extremely rewarding (in my my case) or horrendous. Most sales jobs are horseshit and will cause you to burnout and lose your hair.

It's not for everyone, and it's not fulfilling in the same sense as a lot of other professions. I'm a very competitive person, outgoing IRL, and enjoy solving problems/meeting with people. Sales checks a lot of those boxes.

I can't sit at a desk all day. I'd go nuts.

loved sales when it did it, would probably not like it as much now. it definitely requires a certain personality type to really thrive at it
