All those poor stores are going to have to get rid of the displays at the counter and replace them with new government approved ones.

I caused a minor hubbub at work yesterday when I asserted I would gladly buy smokes for 18-20 year old adults.

They've plummeted because there has been a steady campaign against smoking which includes regulations.

Proof is in the pudding. I live in New York state, where if you want to smoke name brand smokes it'll cost you $11 dollars a pack. Our smoking rates have plummeted in the last 5-10 years. I remember when i was 21 years old and having to pay like 9 dollars a pack, shit got old real fast. The cost of smokes wasn't the number one reason why i quit but it was certainly something i cared about.

Its $25 for a pack of 20's here, and plenty of people still smoke.
I think raising age of consent is the wussy way to do things, ban it outright and grandfather it to anyone born post 2002.

So you would gladly help dumb teenagers take up a life long habit that is known to not only kill but also lead to debilitating illnesses?
Disgusting.

They're adults, and they can make their own decisions. They can take out loans for hundreds of thousands of dollars to pursue college, sign contracts joining the military, carry a gun and fight/die for their country, and vote. The federal government doesn't possess the power they just exerted in the first place, so civil disobedience is in order. It's not your fucking job to nanny them, and the notion that you should is what's disgusting.

Noticed the complete absence of common sense to make things better at society levels.
