Term limits are not retroactive. We just had Jerry Brown serve two more terms here after he served before term limits were put in place. It’s not unusual. And Angela Merkel has been in office longer than Morales was. I don’t hear anyone justifying a military coup against her.
There are no term limits on German chancellorships. There totally should be, the late stages of Merkel's, Kohl's and Adenauer's terms in office were a disaster for our country.

This happened because Morales refused a lithium export deal. It’s cut and dry. Bolivia is a socialist success story and the capitalists wanted the resources for themselves, so they are manufacturing consent in the west. If you don’t. If you don’t believe it was a coup, it’s because you’ve been brainwashed.
Bolivia was such a socialist success story under Morales that a referendum on granting him an exception from the usual term limits failed; and the prospect of getting another 5 years under him was enough to spark violent protests all across the country, involving lots of the local police turning on him and joining the protesters. But I guess all the lowly local police officers were all paid off by capitalists, so that the coup looks more organic.
