what IS authoritarian is to systematically attack and erode the trust in critical media though, and criticising the emperor is literally the only criteria by which this administration (and thus inevitably every cultist) evaluates the press. if they do that they are attacked, labeled fake news, and the president of the united states of america publicly contemplates challenging / revoking their licences (also a typically authoritarian move) - and you are happily perpetuating that simplistic and extremely hypocritical (given how regularly trump deliberately lies) narrative.
why do you think deranged people like the maga bomber targeted specifically those reporters and anchors that trump attacked on a regular basis? because he religiously watched their programs and came to the conclusion that their reporting doesn't meet some objective standards and therefore they had to be removed? no, he was clearly incited by trump's rhetoric - just like the people at his rallies that regularly threaten reporters of those outlets.
there is no equivalence for that on 'the left'. trump never criticises right wing outlets for their objectively LESS truthful reporting as 'fake news', and that's why this whole thread is nothing but trump cult propaganda trying to smear everyone who dares to criticise their precious emperor.
