that is just incredibly flawed logic. for example, you could protect a minority (let's say jews) by ousting jews that contribute to their oppression.

and again, i'm not familiar with the case - so again my question: was he targeted because he was jewish, or why is it of such importance? to me it seems like a dishonest and anti-intellectual way to discredit the whole movement based on a cherry picked incident.

there are countless incidents where antifa violently attacked innocent people simply because they perceived them as being racist/fascist/oppressors, or because they disagreed with their views. this incidence here might be a cherry-picked one, but I just brought it up again because it was such a perfect counterexample to Ink's overly general statement regarding antifa and protecting minorities.

it's even a bit simpler than that IMO. "minority" used to mean a low % of the population. some extremists are trying to paint it as shifted to a low % of the money/control of society. this is why Jews aren't given the same status anymore, and of course a large crossover with non-jewish whites in appearance. jews have for a long time been the forgotten majority group, as have Asians, because of their relative success in the western world.

another funny and often forgotten fact is that African immigrants in the US, on average, are doing FAR better in terms of all socioeconomic metrics and indicators than African Americans.

i wouldn't say it's forgotten, it's just not valid to use in many contexts. mainly because african migrants are a fairly small group. however, what is talked about more often is african migrants talking about how they were treated once they arrived, that being exactly like black people. i've heard many stories of people accusing them of being welfare junkies, having absentee fathers, being in gangs, etc.

in general i'd like to see migrant success calculated versus native success, my guess is that it's higher for migrants in all racial categories.
