Wouldn't make much of a difference, I'm sure your people would find a way to prevent them from voting

You don't even allow people to vote after they've served their time in prison

I agree with you for once, as you are generally useless as a whole. People who have served their time and are off any serious parole should be allowed to vote.

They get punished by going to prison... when they get out and complete parole there's no good reason they should be second class citizens for life.

Agreed. I feel that people IN prison shouldn't be given the right to vote, but once released and off any serious parole - reinstate that right.

voter suppression is nearly always talked about as a one sided practice, when in reality it isn't.

the GOP tends to try and stop voting more often, that aspect is for sure a GOP correlated practice.

but when it comes to Gerrymandering the left's narrative is that the GOP fucks shit up and they're the savior who comes and sets things right. When in reality the GOP tries to separate minority groups into as many districts as they can to dilute their voting block, while the left counters this by trying to create districts with as many minority voters as they can. It's a pendulum, but the left doesn't like to admit it swings past middle. Democrats don't want Milwaukee split up any more than the GOP want's Virginia fixed to reflect the demographics of the state.

Um, don't commit a fucking felony?

"a general and automatic prohibition of prisoners' right to vote is not compatible with democracy"

This is not from me, but from european justice court.
On my side i think felons should have the right to vote, especially once they served their time and while it wasnt a major offense (like terrorism, murder,...)
USA has a giant amount of prisoners.

So this shit + the gerrymandering + the deprecated electoral college voting system... WOW something is really wrong down there.
/nb oh, and Voter Suppression using various tricks from geographical poll stations "optimization" to discutable ID restrictions...

To the left, to the left. Every single voter who's a dem is to the left.

He's in office, know that's tough. But the country spoke, enough was enough.

So keep reeeeeing out tears that's fine, walk yourself down to the unemployment line.

Always interesting(and sad) to see stories coming out of broken machines, incredibly long lines, etc. My state had a couple weeks of early voting, but Election Day really should be a national holiday.

I wonder how many more voters Democrats would have if they didn't abort them

Sometimes Democrats have ideas that don't completely revolve around how many voters it can help create (but not always). One such idea is abortion. Another such idea is immigration. The Right is absolutely convinced the Democrats want more of it because it will result in more votes. But Democrats don't think that far ahead. They are just bleeding hearts.

Same thing with abortion. Yes, more minorities born would result in more votes for them. But the party doesn't take it that far into the future when their seats are up in matter of a few short years.

Democrats are about winning over the people in the country, not creating or importing more voters or attempting to decrease voter turnout among the current population. You can accuse the party of trying to sell voters on free stuff and bad ideas, but there's less support to say they are trying to tinker with the actual voter numbers.

Yes, I've never understood why they are punished beyond their sentence. I suppose it's true that this country has had an obsession with crime and punishment for quite a long time now, and it's reflected here. People may argue that felons have broken the social contract, but I don't think that argument is as strong as the one supporting universal suffrage.

Early voting. I live in the DC area and most people I know voted back in late October.
