There is a billion articles out there that have a billion negative things to say about Trump. The way they framed this legislation is discriminatory. The premise here is not that hey the federal government is spending too much public money and we need to be cost effective rather hey, Trump is making money due to all these reasons so let's try to discriminate against his business because he shouldn't be benefiting as president.

They could of been smart about this and said, okay, federal officials, traveling for business or whatever get allotted x amount of $ which would essentially exclude Trumps pricey hotels but it would also exclude his competitors in a similar price range. Instead they just go after Trumps business revealing that this isn't actually about saving money but just to damage his business/reputation.
