that leaving the EU wouldn't cut levels of immigration into the country because access to the EU single market is dependent on allowing the free movement of people with EU states? Inb4 Norway style EFTA agreement where everything is exactly the same but we can't affect change from within the EU. Members of EFTA must comply to EEC regulations. I saw this coming a mile off, the backtracking began at 6am on Friday morning.

I wouldn't expect a Norwegian deal would be palatable to the leave camp. Falling back on WTO rules is preferable, or they never should have left in the first place.

It is for a lot of them because they care about 'democracy' more than immigration. Yeah there was fuck all reason for leaving

my guess is that the key proponents don't really care what deal they make (so efta/eea are definitely on the cards for them) since it was just about self-promotion aka for nigel farage it was to win the referendum and for him and boris johnson it was about getting rid of david cameron

here an interesting theory:

Brexit, if anything, was a symbolic victory. The first victory of many necessary battles for notions of western culture, civilization and the nationstate to survive.

The first cry of nationalism in a globalist world.

Why do Europeans believe that they can colonize most of the world and not have a good portion of people move back in that direction?

If the British didn't want all those people coming to Britain, they shouldn't have sent so many British people (and guns) to place on Earth tan people lived.

Major lack of common sense. Colonization works both ways.

The first cry of nationalism was the Holocaust. This would be the second or third.

Nationalism began a lot earlier than that.

I think it is. Doesn't need that island for this to be true. They will probably be back anyway.
