Five self stated goals of Al-Qaeda


1.Provoke the United States into invading a Muslim country.

2. Incite local resistance to occupying forces.

3. Expand the conflict to neighboring countries, and engage the U.S. in a long war of attrition.

4. Convert al-Qaeda into an ideology and set of operating principles that can be loosely franchised in other countries without requiring direct command and control, and via these franchises incite attacks against countries allied with the U.S. until they withdraw from the conflict, as happened with the 2004 Madrid train bombings, but which did not have the same effect with the July 7, 2005 London bombings.

5. The U.S. economy will finally collapse under the strain of multiple engagements in numerous places, making the worldwide economic system which is dependent on the U.S. also collapse leading to global political instability, which in turn leads to a global jihad led by al-Qaeda and a Wahhabi Caliphate will then be installed across the world"

Basically the goal of these terrorists is to incite fear into the hearts and minds of Americans so they destroy themselves through prolonged warfare

...and you missed the obvious...the end goal is to install a global caliphate ...heck , it was even in your copy/paste and you missed it .

Basically, they want to use the same methods used against the Soviet Union when they spent more than a decade in Afghanistan

...you really don't get it . This is not only the goal of the militants it is the aim of an entire religion and they will use anything available including chemical , biological and nuclear weapons to get there . But if it makes you feel any better withdraw a little deeper into your isolationist closet and keep that death grip on your wallet .

If that were true they would have would have 1,600,000,000 combatants worldwide instead of only 50,000

As is the only areas under threat of a caliphate are the unstable regions of Iraq, Syria, and Libya.. which are the direct result of us getting involved in regime change

There were caliphates around threatening the rest of the world long before the US ever existed.

What do you expect the western world to do? Tolerate them to death? You can't tolerate a religion that is founded on submission. Islam demands tolerance but it won't tolerate you, and if you won't tolerate their intolerance then you're intolerable to them.

...if you go really deep into that isolationist closet you might find an old Christmas present or two . Blaming the United States for the end game goal of a 1,300 year old religion is the absolute height of naivety .

actually, if we didn't get involved in Iraq to begin with, there would be no caliphate threat there or is Syria.. same is true for Libya
