Well, it's hard to blame them... I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it's an undeniable fact that America has a history of conducting--or at the very least, planning--false flag operations against their own people.

GWB's brother was the head a security for the World Trade center and for more than a month, Vans of "security" personnel did "work" on the core of the building from 3am-6am. Odd how that was never discussed.

Also consider who exactly is calling what they don't want you to believe as a "conspiracy" theory - it's always the anti science/anti-book/anti-thought/anti free thinkers who need to be told what to think and fall in line because of social fear.
