More Guns, Less Crime tells us, it appears that most Democrat constituencies (as noted in the article as "Women, people of color and the elderly were more likely to believe that gun crime was up than men, younger adults or white people.") are painfully ignorant that the gun control bills they continue to push aren't even necessary. So there you have it,
polling that shows the public is ignorant of the facts of the matter, yet their politicians continue to push their agendas (hello JayKwik, where's your math now?).
Doesn't have anything to do with guns and more to do with what the right wing considers the atrocity that is legalized abortion. If Republicans had their way we would be swimming in guns and unwanted children at their crime-prime taking advantage of the NRA funded lax guns-for-everyone laws.
