so I look at my European mouse: does it have a wire ? no is wireless. It doesnt have a wheel either, is a cheap one. Now you americans may find it hard to believe, but it doesnt have screws either ! yes thats the new european way of thinking, no more screws in devices! (cause that means less workers that need to screw stuff in place, so less costs). However, I have a battery for my wireless radio transmitter, and I also have something that sticks in the computer.
