In Hebrew, Satan translates literally to Enemy, so I bet the name Satan came from Judaism. However, religion predates Judaism, and since it's easier to rally people when you share a common enemy, I'd imagine there are many older religions that have an evil figure just as a unifying force.
Possibly, I was just saying that in the terms of the Satan that people know about nowadays, belief in Satan would equal belief in God since the Biblical/Quran'ic Satan believes in God (belief in the sense that he knows God exists).
