Medical science, the way i see it is that as long as it is a parasite that depends on its host for survival then it is slavery and torture to force it to be born, once it can survive on its own and think for itself it is murder to kill it.
So the further we advance medical science and artificial wombs, the earlier the window of legal abortions?
If a fertilized egg can be removed from a donor mother and placed into a surrogate mother, is it murder to have an early stage abortion instead of giving that egg the medical intervention necessary to grow into a fetus and be born as a child?
The woman in the OP story induced labor in an attempt to give premature birth, with a fetus that could not survive on its own. But the combination of medical science and intervention by those with access to it, was capable of prolonging that child's life, and for all we know it he or she could grow up and live many years.
