I was listening to a podcast a couple days ago in which a guest mentioned "
until the Democrats can produce a candidate who is willing to say there are only two genders, male and female, they're going to keep losing."
A 2023 poll found that 65% of Americans — up from 59% in 2021 — believe there are only two genders: male and female. At the same time over in Scotland, a convicted rapist who was trans-identifying was initially sent to a women's prison, a decision only reversed due to public backlash; attitudes on the issue were especially negative when people were given photographs of the individual. Would a presidential candidate for the Democrats dare violate such a taboo? Would it be beneficial to the candidate, or would it harm his or hers prospects?
*I know this is a sensitive topic and a lot of people have strong feelings and opinions about the issue, so I'd like to remind everyone that trans-identifying individuals often suffer from a myriad of mental illnesses so let's be thoughtful and inclusive :)is hilarious.
