98% of the people wont be getting the book thrown at them for simple speeding. If you drive like a dumb fuck going 30+ over that's reckless and you're absolutely putting others in danger. It's circumstantial and most offenders wont get the harshest sentence but there has to some deterrents for the asshats going 50 over on a residential street with kids around or guy going 95 on a busy highway swerving in and out.

Too many people die from this stuff for us a society to not try and discourage it.

RCMP are great. I got digned doing 235 on my gsxr 600. He didn't even bother. I would have stopped but to this day I've never seen RCMP target motorcycles, I think because it's more likely to end in incident.

Young and dumb. Now I barely touch 50 on the ATVs or skidoos.

They are very good and reasonable people. I had a few minor encounters when I was young hanging out with friends - they all insisted on lying to them, I just told them the truth, they thanked me and it ended without incident. They have to deal with the worst scum and liars every day and if people are just reasonable with them they'll be thankful

I never said your own car. Quit being so defensive. Me driving my Tacoma 50 over would never happen. That would be wreckless, I agree. The Subaru Forester I use to drive on the other hand could go 25-50 over without being wreckless.

The vehicle you are driving has everything to do with being considered wreckless, or not. Germany doesn't t have a problem with this idea. The autobahn is unlimited speeds in areas. I believe usa could apply similar rules. It depends what you are driving.
