Legalization needs the proper support systems in place.
You go to a clinic to get your drugs and they can help lower your dosage and ween you off the drug you are addicted to.
You also need to provide housing for people, which we don't do at all in Canada anymore.
It is cheaper to do these things than it is to deal with the crime and medical issues these people create if left on their own. They can also get back in the workforce and start paying taxes.
But you need public housing and food supply. We wouldn't want to hurt the bottom line of the Real estate investors though.
Instead we are lowering capital gains tax so they can make more money when they sell their 17th investment property.
Harris lost because Americans are racist, sexist, selfish and don't actually care about the rule of law. Lots of Canadians like that too. Just slightly more prominent in America.

The problem that leftists dont get is that you need a *hard* shutdown of illicit supply, which means enacting "fascism" - hunting down and killing all dealers and suppliers, with an iron fist fear approach to deter any infiltration into the market
