1. The biggest concern in terms of woke involves my kids. I'm not a fan of this woke ideology targeting the younger generation. Woke agenda has the goal in removing freedom of speech and removing consequences from pursuing these movements. This idea behind "you will accept me for the lie I believe and you will use my pronouns or you will be punished." There's countless cases of "cancel culture" and it's all being back by these pride, blm, lgbtq, etc movements. Your seeing all of these concepts being forced into film, social media, schools, and many other areas. We spend extra money to have our kids in a private Christian school to ensure they are being raised in truth and being around kids that aren't being brainwashed by the crap you see on TV and social media. You have grown men going into women's restrooms, people fighting for these concepts of "more than 2 genders" "I can be whatever gender I want" "I'll call myself a women and dominate women's sports" "I'm gonna shout racism and play victim rather than choosing to live my life for rights I actually do have access to" and so much other crap being thrown around.

My wife and I observe some of these shows and movies that our kids might want to see and nearly all that we go through have scenarios where any of this stuff above is being thrown into the mix.

I support people living a life they choose to live, but it does not need to be thrown in everybody's faces to follow political movements. We also don't need teachers telling kids they need to be gay or need to be the other gender. It's being taught and being pushed on every corner and it's exhausting as a parent to constantly correct these things. Our kids need truth, not political agendas.

2. I do know the big beautiful bill and it has a ton of potential benefits and some potential deficits. The reality is their is not going to be a perfect bill that is perfect for everyone and everything. I use the word potential because nothing is final in this bill yet, but it aims to lower our national debt and better many things throughout the country. I see great things in the bill, and I see the concerns with who it could effect negatively too.

I don't like the idea negative impacts on those in need. Its a complex picture for low-income individuals. While the tax cuts and overtime/tip exemption could be beneficial, the elimination of certain tax credits could create challenges. The specific effects will depend on the details of the bill's implementation and how it interacts with other social safety net programs.

I will admit I do need to spend more time researching much of it and at this time I don't have any alternatives.

What alternative would you like to see in the bill and how do you see that alternative having a better effect on our national deficits?

Let me preface this with two facts:
1. Kamala never ran on identity politics
2. I am lukewarm at best for the topic. Sometimes people should be judged on their biological gender (competitive sports, mostly), most of the time people can be whoever they choose to be.



The bills cornerstones are tax cuts for the rich. If you care for the national deficit, this is where to start - tax them more, not less. That a bunch of poor underinsured people will die without lowering the deficit adds insult to injury.

2. How can somebody choose to be something they are not? I can't go to bed a man and wake up a woman. To 1: no, that is what the media you consume talked about. It is also not "identity politics" in the way you implied with your rant about wokeness, so I am not sure how it applies here - Kamala is a black woman.

2: You can certainly decide you want to be more feminine, even if you have the wrong genitals. You can also decide for yourself that stereotypical gender roles do not fit you well and instead decide to be your own person, maybe not greatly represented with "his" or "her" as pronouns.
You do not become a woman by becomming more feminine, although the label still might fit better than "man" for some people born with a cock - oftentimes neither label fits and that's also okay.
