It’s because of the right wing media ecosystem. For a while it was a slow descent from news into entertainment or often disinformation and in the last ~decade it’s just exploded. They slowly stopped presenting news with a partisan tilt in favor of just outright ignoring news worthy things now in favor or red meat.
I think this really came to a head after the 2020 election and J6th. Some of the organizations like Fox News tried to actually push back against their viewership that the election wasn’t stolen, and that j6th was a horrific event and they hemorrhaged viewers. They quickly realized if they valued their $$$ they simply couldn’t be honest anymore, even in smaller sample sizes. They had helped create a monster that couldn’t be contained anymore.
How do you rationalize this belief when its conflicting with the mainstream media being overwhelmingly liberally biased to an extreme, with big tech openly working to censor conservatives and stories that embarrass democrats, and the "right wing ecosystem" consisting mostly of grassroots channels of independent voices being supported by large number of viewers? The institutional powers attempt to influence the beliefs of the public through disinformation and partisan tilt and outright ignoring news worthy things (and NPR put out a public statement saying exactly that about Hunter Biden's laptop). The viewing public seeks political commentary that doesn't come from organizations, but instead from outside voices they find credible and reasonable. No amount of money changing hands or being thrown at people to influence them is actually changing minds, and the public has been torpedoing the dinosaur media outlets that are hostile to the mainstream beliefs of society. Hell just a couple days ago Polygon became the latest shill outlet to get dismantled.
Every Asmongold video on politics gets about a million views, more than the total daytime viewership of MSNBC. He's probably combining for as many views as the totality of Fox News, and that's just one retard midget doing the same shtick of watching videos and rolling his eyes. The corporate media on both left and right aren't competing, they're dying.
