I wasn't aware Kamala was even remotely left-wing.

Notice all the misogyny in this topic. Not a single mention of her policies or her character. Weak little men make the best misogynists. They really do.

Anyway, the Democrats won't push AOC unless she waters down a lot and sells out like Obama did. So I wouldn't worry about that. I think they will push for someone more like Gavin Newsom than AOC.

What policies do you speak of?
I think we are all familiar with her character, and that is of a broad that is dumb as a bag of rocks.
The Democrats knew her flaws, that's why they kept her out of the spotlight for 4 years, Biden was enough of a disaster on his own to deal with.
I knew if they wanted any chance they should of forgone all the sanctified speeches and empty promises at the DNC, and for a long brokered convention.
Nobody voted for Kamala anyways, what difference would it of been if Delegates actually had to do some work instead of a formal event?

Latest immigration question really should be evaluated less as a moral bludgeon and more of a question of what should the process be
A judge questioning the case of an illegal immigrant mother being deported alongside her 2 year old infant, who was born in America and is therefore a US citizen. And that baby gets deported to Honduras because the mother confirmed in writing she wanted her child to travel home with her. But it still begs the question of what rights in immigration court a baby should have. Particularly if there is a dispute between the parents and both wish to have custody, one a citizen and one illegal.
And of course, the baby is free to be returned to the united states, and when grown up could travel of her own initiative as a US citizen by birthright.

The question becomes, what kind of process should exist for children? The current intent is to keep families together, not separated, particularly when that's their choice. But should there be some kind of hearing to determine status and custody, or even court appointed representation for a minor? If we just keep a baby with its mother as standard procedure and release them together, we don't even have opportunity for family members to intervene and give the option of a US citizen remaining in the country with other citizens as guardians. Given the father's request it seems like it should be more of a custody court battle that plays out prior to deportation

Nowhere in the story does it indicate the Father is a US Citizen, or Resident Alien, he remains anonymous and the filling to keep the child in the USA was filed by a 3rd party on his behalf.
I'd point out that the courts have routinely settled this manner for a very long time giving default custody to the mother in most instances unless there is really compelling circumstances to show she is unfit.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong but if the father is filing for custody as the custodian to take the child from the mother and stay in the US he's got to be either a citizen or legal resident or ICE would just deport them all as a family together. A 3rd party court filing can't possibly give him custody if they can't identify him or his status or even establish his relationship. If he's just another illegal alien too than its a very dumb story, because the only options are deport a 2 year old citizen with her illegal parents or separate a child from its parents and keep her an orphan in the US

Yeah if they were together, they would all be deported together. But if he was a caring father the filing would name him.
The news makes dumb stories out of nothing all the time, but I suspect that the non immediate family is trying to get custody of the child from the mother.
It says right in the story that the father appointed the person filing to be the custodian of the child.
Either way there is no case here for the father even if he were legal to appoint a 3rd party to get custody of the child over the mother.

We've hashed this out like 25 years ago with Elian Gonzales if that's the case.

If the father is legal and just doesn't want responsibility for the child, no worries, child support will still be deducted as if she were in the United States.
