Here's the thing. Let's say you are robbed at gunpoint. If you pull a gun out, you are actually increasing the odds you are killed or your family gets killed. This is just statistically true. I am saying this from a protective standpoint. If you care about yourself or your family you are better off without a gun on you.

Yeah it's awful that criminals can abuse this distinction but it's the world we live in.

EDIT: I do believe everyone should own a weapon and have them at home. Defending your home is different. Going around in public where everyone has a weapon on them is just a recipe for disaster.

I’m 6’11 285(was 325 at the time of the incident) if my size alone isn’t enough to deter a situation like this what do you think would? No, we won’t be victims anymore even at the cost of life or escalation. I carry, my wife carries and my 67 year old mother carries and that’s our right where we live.
