Did Israel actually strike bases of the SAA, or did they mostly strike Hezbollah fighters operating in Syria?
I tend to agree that Assad - while being a murderous dictator - is the lesser evil in Syria. Nonetheless, a fancy suit and good looks don't make you a good guy, just like an unkempt look doesn't make you a bad guy. There are definitely Kurdish fighters in Syria who look not too dissimilar from Jolani while being the good (or least bad) guys in this conflict.
Israel continually and regularly strikes Syrian airports and assets within Syria. This isn't a recent phenomena but has been happening for years, just type in google and you will see dozens of articles from 2018, 2022, 2023, etc. I would understand if there were missile barrages coming from Syria like from Hamas, but Syrian Army is hanging on by a thread to begin with, they do not have the capacity or will to fuck with Israel. Do they pass on weapons and have close ties to Hezbollah? Oh no doubt, so i understand why Israel is motivated to strike, but my personal opinion is when they are basically hanging on by a thread from turning into Libya 2.0 you take it easy to not tip the fragile power. No one wants the goat lovers in power.
This is an example from today. It's possible this is 100% true but it's also possible Iran is rushing aid to SAA to reinforce to fight off the rebels. I mean Israel just announced a ceasefire with Hezbollah, logically it would make way more sense this aid is being rushed to fight off the rebels.

Iranian plane suspected of ferrying arms to Hezbollah blocked by IAF over Syria overnight
An Iranian flight suspected to be ferrying arms to Hezbollah was blocked by the Israeli Air Force over Syria overnight between Saturday and Sunday, The Times of Israel has learned.
IAF fighter jets flew up to the Iranian plane over Syria and ordered it to turn around, and it did a short while later.
The incident was first reported by Ynet, although the news site showed a screenshot of flight data from an unrelated Iranian Mahan Air plane that landed in Latakia in the afternoon hours on Saturday.
The interception of the flight comes as part of Israel’s efforts to prevent Iranian weapons from reaching the Lebanese terror group, during a ceasefire.
In recent months, the IDF has caused a number of Iranian flights to make U-turns over Syrian or Iraqi airspace, when they were suspected of carrying weapons to Hezbollah.
