The housing system in Singapore also help integrate different communities a lot since it is cheap (Public Housing). Some of the public housing in Singapore looks better than private apartments in Manhattan.
And you can use your social security (CPF in Singapore) to pay for it.
The quota for migration in Singapore as a ethnic Han dominated Society has always been veering towards East Asians. HK, China, Taiwan, Macau and to a certain extent Japan and South Korea. They also welcome a White Europeans and Americans and ANZ.(Sounds kinda racist i know)
That solves a lot of problem.
Another important factor is, the Malay Muslims (in a sense similar to African Americans in USA) are making a very decent living wage. Although they might not necessary make as much as other races in Singapore.
Comparatively to the Muslim countries around , they are at least 5 to 6 times more than neighboring Malaysia and at least 20 to 50 times that of Indonesian Malay Muslims.
This have somehow given them pride which helps integrate the Muslims even better. Singapore Muslims are well known not to take extra wives because they are very westernized and secular, furthermore Singapore is rather pricey, not a good idea to have 2 or 3 wives.
Long story short, the Laws in Singapore in regards to racial harmony is extremely Draconian to a point where Human Rights advocates in EU and USA will be disgusted. i.e Detention without trial.
And the law applies to all races equally, there are a few Chinese Chauvinistic Politician that had to run for their lives and are now living overseas as political refugees.
The law also applies to all government servants and their families. Lee Kuan Yew's younger son is now hiding in UK.
