so called " face and dignity " and to stick it up to the left and some of the right that smeared him, that is probably one of the factors as well.
You do realized that politicians both left and right in the USA are pretty
vengeful. Egoism and pride at play at both end of the spectrum.
That however is their personal characteristics, at the end of the day, their foreign polices more than their domestic policies play importance.
If they can balance their policies and take a more pragmatic and not aggressive and interventionist approach to the world. Perhaps USA will be better again.
