The US can have a strategic presence in the Middle east, but that doesn't mean she has to send billions of dollars in aid to a foreign country.

Israel's existence also keeps most of the eastern Mediterranean coastline out of reach for Iran, Russia or the Chinese. And they're keeping Hezbollah, Assad and (historically) Egyptian nationalists in check. And they're a crucial stop whenever islamist, communist or otherwise anti-Western dominos begin to fall in the region.

These anti-Israel people look at the number but ignore the regional facts.

There are cheaper ways to achieve those things other than sending billions of dollars to Israel.

Sounds like incidental benefits to me.

Anyway, even if Israel is truly useful to the US like you described, there are cheaper ways to secure their cooperation besides sending them huge amounts of money. And when you take into account that there are starving Americans and people who can't afford healthcare, giving billions of money to a foreign country like that is just stupid.

The geostrategic usefulness of Israel to the US is tied to them having the necessary military firepower to assert themselves in a very hostile region, surrounded by neighbors who would - secretly or openly - like to wipe them off the face of the earth.

I think the billions of dollars given to foreign countries could be used to pay for American Healthcare...

Israel is nothing but a burden to the American taxpayer system, which is unconstitutional in & of itself, point blank & period.

As I celebrate our nation's independence, I question the loyalty of anyone who disagrees with an America First position.

If your position is anything outside of an America 1st, true in the sense of the verbiage, your opinion holds no weight, because your elected official does not represent you.. ( see current times.. )

They're not our neighbors, it's not our business, we should not be involved, period.

America 1st agenda in the true sense, disregards foreign affairs that are not in the interests of the USA.

Strategic positioning doesn't matter it's 2024, we're using 5th gen fighters, with 6th gen fighters in the works, with military bases across the globe, satellites, drones, surveillance.

& I am sorry, but Israel is like the size of New Jersey, it's a FAR CRY to even act like this spot is worth anything to us, circa 1948.. laughable we so needed this after WW2.. ammiright? right?
