Most of this rant is baseless speculation, and I have probably seen more if the USA than you have.
Australia does have a small population but 90% of it is in 5 cities, we have plenty of homeless.

Your baseless speculation that you've 'witnessed' more of the US when you visited instead of living here is silly. How could you possible of witnessed more of the US culture than me when you don't even live here?

What if we compare:

1. The tax money spent on all things related to the homeless based on current systems and level of need.

v.

2. The tax money that would be spent on providing the level of social services needed to account for the level of need while retaining certain standards and quality commensurate with the reality that we're talking about human beings.

What if option 2 is only a reality if we build them in major cities/towns, including your own?

Real way is to close the boarders and stop drugs. People don't become homeless for random reasons. Thing is that it takes authority out in the streets to do it, and ya'll don't want police or anything near it.

Because I have a lot of money and have now visited 34 states.
Like I know enough about America to know this obsession with closed borders is an impossibility and that if you pulled it off homelessness would likely increase due to the economic crash.

Which is why they're not trying to close the border. They can close the borders any time they want.
They're trying to secure the borders so good honest folk can come and go while being known.

I've probably been in an equivalent amount of states, I think maybe the south west and very north east are the only states i haven't visited in some compacity, though half of that is mostly just slight visiting/driving through.

Closing the boarders would increase homelessness? How? How does bringing in more people cause less homelessness?

I think Trump's presidency here has the lowest homeless numbers

Plague. Did you know I have to pay 200k for a house I want to buy tha tI could've paid 100k for During Trumps' presidency? too bad i was in school and not making money then. I coulda bought myself a nice little starter home back in 2020 almost free and clear and nowadays i have to consider if my single person income is enough to finance a 900 sq ft house. I'm not making big bucks but im making 40% more than my states median income...

I'm actually kinda offended that you think Biden and democrats helped the economy.

The prior norm, essentially encouraging and enabling people to OD in the streets, wasn't much better at the very least.

What is the solution and what is the price tag? Personally, I react very poorly to open drug use, needles on the ground, and rampant / permissive store theft. Similarly, in a number of cases there is housing available, but people simply prefer to live outside (e.g. a public park). What ends up happening is that the vast majority of society loses access to a public good as it's monopolized by the very few.

So then if I visited Australia, I would understand it enough to easily survive in the outback?

Rough sleeping can now be punished with prison time.
Biden needs to do something about this asap before they make it legal to shoot anyone on minimum wage.

The real question here is "How many people will ever enforce it?"

I don't see places like NYC enforcing it unless the person becomes a serious threat to public safety.

I don't think much will change at all.
