I remember reading a good piece about how pathetic so-called liberals idolize the real chad anarchists, wish I could remember it now

its a shame that in an effort to legitimize anarchism as a real political counterculture ideology they had to distance themselves from the OG anarchists. they'd oftentimes find themselves arm in arm with classic liberals, but as the song says when it came time to throw bricks through the starbucks window the spineless liberals left them all alone.

history remembers the suffrage figures who handed out pamphlets and MLK's message of peaceful protest to activate change. but during the time action was done to prevent riots, to stop suffragettes from bombing polling locations and to put out the fires of Mississippi.

I look at footage of how trashed some of the top universities are, UCLA, Columbia, etc and it makes me feel like leftism is almost like a poison pill. There won’t be a war between Us and China for hegemony, we’ll just slowly disintegrate and fade as internal social cohesion fades and we buckle under domestic issues.

I'd like to point out that all week, the front page of Fox News was something like

campus story
non-campus story
campus story
non-campus story
non-campus story
campus story
non-campus story
campus story
non-campus story
non-campus story
etc

It made up at least a third of all the stories on the site
Republicans clearly know this is a lose-lose scenario for Biden and want to press the issue. I say it shows how fickle and unanticipatable the election dynamics really are. A year ago Republicans were hammering Democrats on transgender ideology in schools and flipped the advantage the left once held on education issues and carved into that suburban soccer mom demographic. Now they're just twisting this knife on the Israel Palestinian conflict because no matter how it goes it goes bad for Biden

i blame the expansion of state schools. obviously with college applicant levels ballooning in the 2000s they had to go somewhere, and so the smaller state schools all tripled in size. the gap between big schools and small schools shrunk, and so did the prestige. and at the same time the value of a degree plummeted. i think they're trying to make up for the lack of a quality job prospect with a culture experience. college is just 4 years of coachella where u have to occasionally take tests. you have to justify costs somehow, and they cant do it by showing you those graphs about how much more you'll earn anymore.

Yeah I think the businessification of higher ed has had a really bad outcome. Over saturation of ‘highly educated’ people on paper. A bachelors is the high school diploma of 50 years ago for non stem fields. These are all such complex issues and trends that I have no idea how they smooth themselves out.

To me this is another symptom of the larger issue of social cohesion in this country. I hope I’m wrong because I have kids to raise and all my assets are here and if things get worse I’m certainly impacted.

I’m just imagining what will the response be in 5-10 years when government starts slashing food stamps and ss while the dollar continues to be inflated away. if wars far away that have almost no impact on the avg person here result in this anarchy, what happens to cities when people can’t afford food?

the only solution is the great reset. the automation of nearly all jobs. why would the lack of a job with a higher ed degree matter when no one has jobs? high school education will lead into college just for culture, arts degrees and new majors we can't even conceive of will come up.

the sad truth is that the only way out is for the lower and middle class to never again regain any sense of wealth or independence. the american people will beg for credits to spend and they'll be happy to have their 100$ per month to dole out to corporations for "luxury goods" like streaming subscriptions or a new hat. and the corporations will plunder the "new world" to compensate, while satiating the first world with just enough stability to avoid revolution.

i used to hold out hope that Europe would remain a bastion for true freedom, not through free markets but rather through regulation that would strangle to corporate entities from making this happen. those hopes are gone.

buy land and build generational wealth. your great grandkids will be 1 bedroom white walled apartment dwellers otherwise, they still may be but they might live on something other than govt cheese. and if they're really lucky they'll have reproduction rights. the only way out of this inflation is to deflate the population, either via space colonization or the govt paying people to get neutered.

The anti-Semitic, pro-Hamas campus protesters hate Joe Biden and the Jan 6th insurrectionists were carrying Trump flags.

Both sides are not equally bad.

They are exceedingly young and naive now though. If they did no actual violence, I think sentencing should be light for the students. City ordinance or something maybe.
