I think 'pushback' and this kind of hate-based content viewing and consumption are quite a bit different. Life is too short to spend it that way, imo.

Truely. If I think a show is shit I simply don't watch it. You have people here hate hate watching every episode of something like Rings of Power just to make the same comments each episode which only supports the show itself via viewership.

Why do you believe this? It's a pretty widespread thing and people on both sides of the aisle do it. seems perfectly normal to me, kinda like a "get to know your enemy boys" sorta thing. And I don't think people are usually conscious of going down a rabbit hole, it's gradual and with the way algorithms function it can easily lead to an information bubble where something like trans bathrooms is the most important issue facing society.

I think it is more common on the right but that has more to do with their views being essentially demonized by popular media which helped create and push people into those information bubbles.

Yes, because binging on content that one has a hatred for is not healthy for the psyche.
