Tying GDP to the party of the president is silly. That entire statistic hinges on a few months timing in 1991, 2008 and 2020. Trump wasn't to blame for the covid recession. The Great Recession in 2008 was a collective effort of decades of financial deregulation, which started under Reagan, was seamlessly continued under Clinton and supported by the Democratic House and Senate throughout. The economic pain from the early Reagan years came from the mess Carter had left him. And the great economy of the mid- to-late 90s was mostly caused by the US reaping the "peace dividend" after winning the Cold War, and by the boomer generation entering their peak earning years - both factors independent from Clinton.
