They don't.
It's about controlling women. That's it.
Otherwise they wouldn't pass laws where women can't get basic medical treatment because the state prosecutors are using it to threaten the doctors even though the fetus has no viability.
I'm not really sure if it is 100% about control, especially when we have to consider all parties involved. Surely there are some with that intent, but I doubt it is the majority. We are all human, and let us not pretend that democratic leaders are not using abortion as a means to control the liberal youth to vote for them, so they can put in their policies and line their pockets.
If we want to talk about control, why not talk about the layers of it?
That perspective aside, I'm not sure about the specific instance or laws you are discussing, as each state has their own laws and tbh I won't pretend to have studied in the abortion topic so I know specific court cases or which states are hated by each side for their laws.
I'd like to think that we should look at a broad scope since we are using this topic for the last two decades as a campaign gimmick. You are right in that sense, it is all about controlling the public and polarizing them.
Statistically, how many people are effected by these laws you mention, and what are some ways we can take action on them, instead of thinking radically in extremes about the basic argument itself?
